Ups, it's been more that a year when I last posted to my gardening blog... I've been busy moving from Sweden back to Finland, had a baby, started my own webshop and all that :D.
Good news is it's now April and we are ready to start the gardenseason by planning what to grow in our allotment this year. Bad news is, we still have snow!!! It's April 10th for crying out loud!
I shall give you more updates about about plans regards to the allotment and our huge project where we turn our garden from nothing to something! We have a plan, made by a professional, and I shall share that with you in the coming weeks.
Have a good day and talk to you soon!

My Gardening Dreams
I love nature, gardening, flowers, home decor and photography - and my kids, husband and dogs :D. We have an allotment nearby where we live, where we grow all sorts of vegetables and flowers. We are also starting a huge garden project at our new home. Hopefully my photographs will be inspiring to you!

Pretty Easter
Easter arrived, and I wanted to try these dyed eggs that I saw at one of the blogs I follow. Design Mom always has great ideas! I was pleased how easy it was and how pretty they were! This year I was in time with the Easter grass so it was the perfect length.
My son Joonatan, 3 years, had also made such a lovely Easter branch at daycare, I placed it on the dinner table.
Balcony is not yet too warm, since the temperature dropped to zero (and below during the night). This is, however, perfect temperature for some plants. Tulips last for weeks out in the balcony! Here are few pictures of my spring balcony.
Now I'm just hoping the weather will get a bit warmer soon so we can all enjoy the balcony, not just from the living-room window, but actually sit out there.

March full of color
March in Finland is usually a pretty colorless month. Whereas here in Sweden, at least in Stockholm, the shops are full of color and the people are adding more colors to their outfits as well. It's refreshing to see other than just black and grey in peoples clothing.
I took some photos while I was walking in the streets of Vasastan few weeks ago. Here are a few of them.

One of many flower shops.
And one from the church garden

Tulip season is here
I love tulips and I've been buying all different color tulips for the past 2 weeks. I have my tulips in the Alvar Aalto vase because I think it looks really beautiful there. These ones I got for Valentines day. Just after 2 days they are unfortunately looking allready a bit tired. The price of the tulips went from 40 Swedish kronor to 80 kr (for 10) on Feb 14!

Autumn colours at Södermalm
Södermalm is one of my favourite areas in Stockholm. It's so lively and full of shops, restaurants and beautiful people.
In between the busy streets there are also little green areas such as this one, where I had a walk just the other day. It's a small area just minutes from Skanstull underground station.
I take my son to the nearby swimming hall once a week and have been looking how the beautiful scenery has turned from summer green to lovely autumn colours.
The area has maybe 20 tiny cottages with tiny gardens and its surrounded by tall apartment buildings and a massive bridge leading to a ring road. I suppose that's also what makes this quite special, at least in my mind. Here's a few pictures I took on my last walk around there.

Hello from Stockholm
One of my favorite places in Stockholm is Rosendals Trädgård. It's situated in the Djurgården area of Stockholm, which again is an island. Not only is it beautiful there, they also have a cafe that serves delicious lunch and coffee & cakes. When possible, all the food is made from the vegetables picked directly from the garden.
Last weekend, so beginning of October, there were still lots of vegetables and flowers in the garden as you can see. I had a carrot soup with homemade bread and it was good!
It might have been the last time this season to be eating outside in the garden. So that made it extra-special.

Kumpulan kasvitieteellinen puutarha
